Uganda’s FY2026/27 Shs. 84 trillion budget isn’t a government document. It’s a demand forecast. Is your business ready to grow with it?

Uganda just passed its largest budget in history — Shs84.39 trillion — with growth projected at 10.2%, our first double-digit run since the reforms.

Most people read it as citizens. We read it as advisors. Here’s what the numbers are really saying:

📌 Shs8.79 trillion — transport, including the Standard Gauge Railway
📌 Shs6.66 trillion — education, with Shs568 billion for teacher pay
📌 Shs5.23 trillion — health
📌 Shs2.26 trillion — agro-industrialisation, the highest allocation ever
📌 Shs2.07 trillion — energy, including the 380MW Kiba hydropower plant
📌 Shs1.14 trillion — science, technology, ICT & the creative economy
📌 Shs567 billion — tourism, riding record earnings of $1.8 billion
📌 Shs473 billion — minerals, oil & gas, with First Oil arriving this year

Every line is a demand signal. Demand for talent that can manage scale. Demand for capital that moves at the speed of opportunity. Demand for insurance on projects this country has never built before.

According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), 70% of Ugandans participate in the Agriculture sector. As business owner, these numbers define your strategy.

So here’s the question we keep asking clients: when the economy grows this fast, will your business be positioned to grow with it — or watch it happen?

Over the coming weeks, we’ll unpack what this moment means for hiring, financing, and protecting your business. Follow along.
